Bikelinc was created for bikes and other similar modes of transport which are not required to be registered with the Dept of Transport.  This includes electric and power-assisted bikes, scooters, mobility scooters and non-registerable off-road motorbikes, which have a unique serial number.

With new e-rideable rules now in place in WA, here’s an easy summary of what is classified as an e-rideable device by the Road Safety Commission.

Bikelinc supports the registration of bicycles and compliant e-bikes for identification and recovery purposes across Australia.

To be eligible for registration, cycles must comply with applicable Australian laws and relevant state or territory regulations, including requirements relating to motor power, speed, and operation.

Cycles that do not meet these requirements, including modified or high-powered electric conversions, are not eligible for and should not be registered on Bikelinc.  Registration on Bikelinc does not constitute confirmation of legal compliance.

Information about the use of E-scooters in the ACT is available on the ACT Policing website.
