What started as an ordinary evening dog walk turned into an unexpected feel-good story.
One night, while out walking their puppy, a local resident spotted a high-quality bike abandoned in the bushes. With experience as a former bike mechanic, he immediately recognised it as an expensive model, not the kind likely to be left behind intentionally. Trusting his instincts, he returned home with the puppy and then went back out to retrieve the bike for safekeeping.
The next step was detective work.
After checking local community pages to see if anyone had reported a missing bike, and finding only posts from others who had also seen it, it was time to dig deeper. A helpful suggestion led them to search the bike’s serial number on Bikelinc. Although the number was hard to find, hidden beneath the cables, it revealed that the bike had indeed been reported stolen.
From there, it was a matter of reaching out.
Emails were exchanged, details were confirmed, and before long, the rightful owner made the trip to collect his long-lost bike. He was overjoyed, not only that it had been found, but that someone had taken the time to investigate and ensure it was returned safely.
In a lovely twist, it turned out that when the bike was first stolen, it was the owner’s partner who had thoughtfully listed it on Bikelinc – a small but crucial act that ultimately made the reunion possible.
Another reminder that sometimes doing the right thing, no matter how small, can make a very big difference.
