Andy came across a bike in perfect condition, not damaged in any way but which appeared to have been dumped at the City of South Perth Recycling Station in Como.  It was earmarked for disposal, but rather than see that happen, Andy checked the frame serial number on Bikelinc to search for a match and discovered it had been reported stolen.

Using the ‘contact owner’ functionality in Bikelinc, Andy sent a message and soon received an email back from the rightful owner, Leon, who was thrilled to hear from him.

“He was very grateful to get his seven-year old son’s bike back as they weren’t in a position to buy a new one for him.  He will surprise his son this afternoon when he gets home from school,” said Andy on the day of the handover.
