When someone brought a bike frame (with no wheels or axles!) into the workshop at 99 Bikes O’Connor asking about replacements, staff knew something didn’t quite add up. They asked the customer what happened to the missing parts but they didn’t have an answer.
Trusting their instincts, the staff asked the guy to leave it with them for 5 minutes, which gave them the opportunity to check the bike’s serial number on Bikelinc and sure enough, it came up as stolen.
The customer who brought it in said they’d “be back later”, but never returned – perhaps their instincts telling them that they’d been caught out. That gave the team time to contact the rightful owner through Bikelinc, who was surprised and thrilled to hear their stolen bike had been found.
With the help of Crime Stoppers WA and Palmyra Police, the bike is now back where it belongs.
Another great catch for the community, and another happy ending thanks to Bikelinc!
